MONGOLIA EXPORTS 26.8 THOUSAND TONS OF MEAT IN 2017
Mongolia exported a total of 26.8 tons of meat worth of MNT 111 billion in 2017, which means the export amount tripled compared to the previous year. Specifically, 24 thousand tons of horse meat was exported, of which 18 thousand tons to China. Moreover, 560 tons of frozen beef was exported to Russia and 2400 tons of mutton and goat meat to Iran and Qatar. Officials reported that 12 companies’ special licenses to export meat to China are expected to be confirmed in 2018.
