STATEMENT OF THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF MONGOLIA
- 2017-04-17
Regarding the recent ballistic missile launch of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia released a statement on April 16. The statement says, "Mongolia strongly opposes the DPRK’s act of destabilizing the regional security through conducting repeated nuclear tests and ballistic missile launches, in defiance of the international community’s warnings and in violation of the relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
We urge the concerned parties to display restraint in order to avoid escalating the evolving tension in Northeast Asia and to resolve a dispute solely through a dialogue.
Mongolia stands for the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and will spare no effort to ensure peace and security in Northeast Asia exploiting all possible dialogue avenues and mechanisms, and initiatives, including “The Ulaanbaatar dialogue”.
